Reports To: Branch Manager
Purpose of the Role: The Branch Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Branch Manager in the effective day-to-day operation of the branch. This role focuses on supervising branch activities, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures, and delivering excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Staff Management
• Monitor and manage employee attendance, leave, sick leave, and maternity leave, ensuring accurate reporting to HR.
• Capture and process leave applications.
• Ensure all staff receive the required training and development opportunities.
• Coach, mentor, and upskill employees to improve performance.
• Administer disciplinary procedures and issue warnings in accordance with the company’s Code of Conduct.
• Promote fair labour practices and ensure consistent application of company policies.
• Communicate policy updates and ensure all required documentation is signed and submitted to HR.
• Ensure employees maintain any required licences and that relevant departments are informed of staffing changes.
• Allocate Sunday and public holiday shifts fairly.
• Supervise cashiers, cleaners, and bar staff.
2. Banking and Cash Control
• Ensure daily banking drops are accurately balanced, recorded, and completed in line with company procedures.
• Maintain strict cash handling and reconciliation standards.
3. Customer Service and Operational Oversight
• Resolve customer and staff concerns professionally and fairly.
• Ensure compliance with company rules and betting regulations.
• Monitor staff performance and conduct through regular floor supervision.
• Lead by example and maintain high professional standards.
4. Payouts and Cancelled Tickets
• Oversee ticket-checking processes and assist with escalated queries.
• Ensure payout tickets and cancelled tickets are properly organised and available for audit purposes.
5. Administration and Reporting
• Report branch issues and incidents to senior management promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of slips, invoices, and supporting documentation.
• Keep branch files current and organised.
• Complete and submit required reports, including:
o Staff rosters
o Daily branch reports
o Printer registers
o Daily cash reconciliations
o Supporting documentation required by relevant departments
6. Slot Machine Operations
• Verify manual payouts against machine-generated reports.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs for malfunctioning machines.
• Maintain accurate records of all slot payouts.
• Reconcile slot registers with daily cash reconciliations and machine reports.
7. Cash Balancing and Reconciliation
• Cash up employees at the end of their shifts using approved handover procedures.
• Ensure daily cash reconciliations balance with cash on hand.
• Reconcile slips, invoices, and cash records using approved templates.
• Escalate and report any discrepancies to Regional Management and the Finance Department.
8. Branch Displays and Marketing Material
• Ensure all promotional displays remain visible, accurate, and up to date.
• Maintain current posters and branch marketing materials.
• Confirm that televisions display a variety of approved content.
• Ensure horse racing and soccer displays are prominently featured where required.
9. Internet Stations
• Switch internet stations on and off according to operational requirements.
• Monitor functionality throughout the day.
• Ensure equipment remains secure, present, and in good working condition.
10. Promotions
• Support Promotional Representatives (PROs) in implementing branch promotions.
• Ensure promotional material is displayed correctly.
• Communicate promotional campaigns and mechanics to all staff.
• Purchase promotional accessories where required and maintain supporting documentation.
• Ensure a clear understanding of all active promotions and their requirements.
11. CCTV and Security Monitoring
• Ensure camera coverage adequately monitors all branch areas.
• Check that CCTV equipment is functioning correctly and producing clear footage.
• Review recorded footage when required for operational or investigative purposes.
12. Branch Maintenance
• Perform minor maintenance tasks where possible.
• Arrange repairs and maintenance support when necessary.
• Report major maintenance issues and damages to Regional Management.
• Obtain Regional Management approval before proceeding with significant repair work or associated expenditure.
Additional Responsibilities
The Branch Supervisor is primarily responsible for overseeing branch-floor activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The role may also require assisting with cash betting during staff shortages and acting in the Branch Manager’s position during periods of absence.
Any other duty which is deemed necessary may be added by management.

Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 / Matric (certificate required).
• Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
• Previous experience within the betting or gaming industry is essential.
