Reports to:
Sports Floor Manager
Purpose:
To provide effective management of the Sports Trading Team and their duties.
Essential Functions:
• Pricing up/Updating of pre-match and live in play sports (those that do not come through feeds);
• Constant monitoring of market pricing on manually traded and high liquidity events;
• Monitoring of betting activity on sporting events;
• Assisting client with Tele-betting and handling of related customer queries/issues, and similar support items;
• Effective management of the live booking calendar and its surrounding contracts;
• Constant Issue identification with a continuous improvement mindset in order to constantly grow the department and its product;
• Website monitoring.
Management Functions:
• Assigning Trader duties and ensuring they are done timeously and correctly;
• Effective rostering to ensure all hours and major events are adequately covered;
• Effective oversight of quality of work being completed with a continuous improvement mindset;
• Keeping up to date with latest industry innovations in order to make strategic decisions internally;
• Ensuring the teams objectives align with the business’ strategy and values.
Preferred Skills:
• Strong passion & knowledge of Sports (especially local sports);
• Excellent attention to detail;
• Be a strongly motivated and a self – starter;
• Able to work reliably without supervision;
• Computer literate and have knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
• Knowledge of Fixed Odds Markets and the principle involved in pricing and trading Sports Events;
• Skilled at building knowledge of Clients and betting patterns;
• Ability to work within a team environment;
• Excellent communication (verbal/written) and influencing skills;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
• Welcome change to working practices.
Requirements: Experience, Education and Other:
• Grade 12 (matric certificate required);
• Tertiary education (an advantage);
• Communications background is preferable;
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role is preferred;
• Previous experience in a betting company (is a must);
• Knowledge of betting software is preferred;
• Availability to work weekends, public holidays, shifts and / or long hours.
