Purpose:
World Sports Betting operates in a fast-paced, highly regulated iGaming environment where performance, compliance, and customer experience are critical. We are looking for a practical and hands-on Operational Training & Development Specialist to drive the day-to-day execution of training initiatives across the business.
This role focuses on implementing structured onboarding, delivering operational training, ensuring compliance readiness, and supporting team leaders with skills development. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations, Customer Support, Risk, Marketing, and Product Teams, to ensure employees are fully equipped to perform at a high level.
Essential Functions:
Operational Training Delivery:
• Deliver structured onboarding programs for new hires across departments;
• Conduct classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions;
• Develop and update SOP-based training material;
• Facilitate refresher training for Customer Support, Risk, and Payments teams;
• Support training rollouts for new product features and system changes.
Compliance & Regulatory Training:
• Ensure all employees complete mandatory regulatory and responsible gambling training;
• Work with Compliance to update and distribute policy training;
• Maintain training records for internal audits and regulatory inspections;
• Conduct periodic knowledge assessments to ensure understanding;
• Manage the internal training schedules and logs.
Performance Enablement:
• Identify performance gaps in operational teams and implement targeted training interventions;
• Support team leaders with coaching frameworks and training guides;
• Assist in reducing onboarding time-to-productivity;
• Develop training around quality assurance findings.
Training Material & LMS Management:
• Develop clear, practical training manuals and quick-reference guides;
• Manage and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS);
• Upload content, track completion, and generate reports;
• Ensure content remains current with system and regulatory changes.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
• Work closely with Product and Tech teams to understand system updates;
• Work closely with 3rd party SAAS providers to understand, interpret and train on product;
• Translate product changes into practical training for frontline teams;
• Support internal communication around process and system updates.
Skills, knowledge and other requirements:
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills;
• Practical understanding of adult learning principles;
• Experience training operational or frontline teams;
• Strong knowledge of SOP development and documentation;
• Ability to simplify complex systems into clear training material;
• Excellent organizational and follow – up skills;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Hands – on and execution – focused;
• Structured and process – oriented;
• Excellent learning and interpretation skills;
• Comfortable working in a fast – paced, regulated environment / adaptable in a fast – moving digital business.
Requirements: Experience, Education and Other:
• Grade 12 (matric certificate required);
• Tertiary education (an advantage);
• 3 – 6 years of experience in learning and development and / or training;
• Experience in iGaming, financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry (highly advantageous);
• Experience with delivering compliance and / or regulatory training;
• Experience working with LMS platforms;
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
